The Natural Mystic Foundation is a rain forest conservation group founded in 1995 by Cesar A. Castroverde Jr. of Panama and Sven Uljas Schiffer of Germany. We acquire and protect rain forest so that it will be available for you and your children to experience.

So much environmental damage is more tragic for being needless. Human activity can have a devastating affect on the natural world. Species are eliminated in a single stroke as habitats are destroyed. Sadly, devastation proceeds at an accelerating rate even as technology improves, and poorer nations sell the bounty of their land for cash to clean up after unsustainable practices. In our time we see a rate of species extinction not seen since the dinosaurs. Much of this is due to the erosion of natural habitat.

Natural Mystic is dedicated to alternatives to idle destruction. We begin in Panama in part because of roots there, and because of its strategic location as a narrow land bridge linking North and South America. It's a critical migratory path for countless animals and the beginning of Amazonia. If Panama's ecosystems become unhealthy, the Americas will be effectively separated, leading to isolated and vulnerable eco-systems.

We are a 501(c) non-profit organization in the U.S. since 1996, and the registration of our sister association in Panama is under way. The directors of the largest orphanages for boys and for girls have compiled lists of their most pressing needs. We hope to fill them as soon as possible.

The Natural Mystic journey has been a struggle. The vast majority of the funding has been contributed by the founders. We need your help to continue this important work..
